inspiration

Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working. - Pablo Picasso

inspiration, in progress

I started this on Friday and was so excited to return to it this morning :)

At the end of this week I'm heading to the lovely little print shop that photographs my work (and also produces my canvas prints.) It's an hour north of Boston and I have to make the trip twice to drop off and then pick up my work, so I'm determined to spend a lot of time in my studio this week and complete as much of many in-progress pieces as possible to make the most of this trip. You can't (and shouldn't) force creative work, but you can definitely welcome inspiration and encourage productivity by spreading out your materials, rolling up your sleeves, tuning out distractions and putting yourself in the moment. I'm hoping to have several new prints, and a few original pieces, available in my shop at the start of next week.

    1. Hi Kiele, I have my work photographed at Image Tec in Methuen, MA. They do a fabulous job scanning artwork and it's very affordable. If you go there let Tom know I sent you! :)

  3. i think facebook is one of my biggest distractions! sometimes i have to actually turn off my computer and stick it in another room when it's time to really get down and dirty with paints, papers, etc etc. <3

    1. Me too! And Pinterest. I'm tempted to have my boyfriend take my computer to work with him one day to see how much I could get done without distraction.

  4. Thank you for the info! I'm a Bostonian trying to find my creative niche now that art school is done, and your blog is really inspiring. Would you recommend Image Tec to other artists looking to being the print-making process? You're the second person I've heard uses them, and your prints look really beautiful! Are they good to work with, in terms of value for your money and personalities?
