wild air canvas giveaway - closed

Did you have a good weekend? Sunday night I was working on more 30x30 paintings and my thoughts kept returning to all the kind comments and helpful feedback you've given me over the last few months here on my blog, on Instagram and on Facebook.

Let me tell you, I appreciate them so much. I read every comment and make a mental note of what you like and don't like. What "works" and what sends the message I'm trying to convey, and what needs a little more thought and depth. Which artistic techniques and approaches "say" what cannot be said in words. My goal as an artist is to use paint and color to tell my own story, but in a way that it also resonates with those who see it... over the past few years as my style has grown and changed, your feedback has always been there to encourage and guide it.

So... thank you!
Now on to the fun stuff.

I'm giving away this 15"x21" Wild Air canvas print. One commenter will win the canvas and an 8"x10" print from my shop. Two runners-up will each win an 8"x10" print.

***Comments are now closed. Stop by tomorrow, Thursday 9/12 to find out the winners.***

Leave a comment below with 1) where you are from, and 2) the name of the paper print you'd like to win. It may help to visit my Etsy shop first - comments with "the beach one" or "the adventures one" won't cut it ;)

This giveaway is open to U.S. and international entries. Feel free to pin, share or tweet this giveaway if you think your friends might like it too. To keep it fair, please leave only one comment. Comments will close Wednesday at 5pm EST. I'll pick the three winners randomly and announce them here on Thursday.

  65. I loved all your prints related to the sea, but especially "The cure for anything is salt water". I live in Izmir, Turkey, almost on the other side of the world. But i am a girl of the sea, living by the sea. And your love of the ocean somehow resonated deeply inside of me. I am an architect and have seen quite some visual material through my life. Yet your work seems so unique and fresh to me. Perhaps it is because you take your own photos and use them. Or it is the way you bring paint and ephemera together. Whatever is the case, i am truly inspired.(Meanwhile i am trying to decipher the different aspects of your style to give it a try in my own humble way, which might take a million light years...)

  104. I love your art! The first time I saw "Wild Air" I thought of my best friend. She loves the sea and moved to the Mississippi coast years ago. She survived Katrina there. She has had a very difficult year this year and I would love to send this canvas to her. She lives in Pascagoula, MS now. We worked together in Newnan, GA for a few years and are still the best of friends even though I still live in Newnan, GA and the miles separate us. Went to see her for a week this summer and it was as if she had never left.

  105. Dear Mae, my name is Valerie. I am French but have been living in London for 20 years. Every year, as a child, as a teenager, as an adult and now as a mother, I have spent my summer breaks by the sea in Brittany. When I look at the sea sitting on the beach, it feels like the sea has been waiting patiently for me all year long, like a dear friend. In that familiar but still enchanting seascape, I lose myself and I find myself. Needless to say, I love In The Sea. I also love Wild Air because I find it full of contrasts like my personality: soft/bright colours, bird/seashore, horizontal/vertical strokes, and again, the words describe very well how I feel on my beloved beach. Your Art send me dreaming and I thank you for that.

    ReplyDelete
  106. "Wild Air" is my favorite of your pieces...I love the quote, the colors and the vibe...and the sea! For the print, I'd love the "though she be small, she is fierce" for our Production Assistant at work...it's so her! I live in Orlando, FL.

  122. Hello!

I absolutely love the art that you're making! So much so, that it's very difficult to pick only one. I have a top three that I've been eye balling for a little while. "To Be Brave" would be perfect my son's bedroom. He can't read yet but I feel that once he can it could be a sweet, endearing reminder every morning. The other two I love are "The Sea" and "Earth Delights." These appeal to me because my husband and I met on a hiking trail and always connect best when we are outdoors. We even got married on the beach! However, if I had to pick one it would be "Earth Delights." The colors and the quote alone remind me of the way that nature can make you feel.

My family and I live in Davenport, FL, just outside of Orlando.

Thanks again and best wishes :)

Hard to pick one print, but I choose "The cure for anything is salt water..." because it was the first work of yours I ever saw, and I really clicked with the quote and your creative interpretation of it. Not only do I enjoy seeing your art on your blog, I also really enjoy your photos of the places y'all go, especially the beachy places! My all-time favorite photo so far is one you took of seashells on the beach. I'm not sure why, but I look at it and it just washes away the drudgery of the day. I Pinned the photo--maybe someday you'll sell it on Etsy? Thanks so much for sharing your blog!
