hello spring!

Finally, after what seemed like an almost endless winter, spring has most definitely sprung here in Boston!

One thing about winters in New England is that they are so bitterly cold and long that you can't help but feel a little giddy about the first sixty degree day and the sudden pop of color as all the trees and flowers come back to life.  The weekend of the Boston Marathon was a beautiful one… the marathon route is just a few blocks from our new place, so we walked over to watch the (amazing, inspiring) runners tough out the last half mile under bright sunshine and a beautiful canopy of blooming magnolia trees. Since then I've gone out exploring with my camera a few times… this is what spring looks like around Boston's Back Bay neighborhood.

How is it where you are? Has spring showed it's face yet or are you still in the grip of this long winter?

  2. Love the blooms. Your photos are excellent. I live a couple of hours north an am waiting for them to make it here.
