monday at 7:47pm

Happy Monday! The evening light in my studio was just begging for a few photos tonight. This morning's routine post office run turned into a sweet, impromptu breakfast date with my boyfriend, including an enormous pink armful of peonies, carnations and cala lilies from the flower shop up the street. I cleaned my studio and managed to finish up the background of an 18"x36" painting I've been working on for the last week. (It may not look like it, but there are about 14 hours of work put into this one so far! I am documenting the step-by-step progress of this painting over on Instagram, if you'd like to follow along.) Spring offers up about 11 hours of great north light these days, and then as the sun sets, a beautiful golden glow as the last few rays peek over the Citgo sign onto the Mass Pike, across the train tracks and into our wall of windows.

  1. Hi Mae!

So glad I stumbled upon your blog! It's so neat to see all your photos and see the paintings in the middle of the process. I just wanted to write you..I had sent a couple msgs on Etsy and hadn't heard back. I know you're probably so busy but just wanted to see if I could get in touch with you another way :) You can write me back on Etsy if you get this! Thank you!!!
