In two weeks a small body of my work will be on display in the Fort Point, downtown Boston. I want to show a mix of older work and some brand new stuff so I've been working on several new pieces with an early summer feel. I started this big piece (24"x36"x1.5") today and just liked this corner of the background so much... there is so much saturated color in this one, mostly burnt reds and peaches... it will be fun to fill up with words.
Don't ruin it with words :( This looks nice as it is. I'd like to see more words-less art from you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback Marcheline. This one already has text sketched and planned for it that I'm sure will not ruin it :) There will be some more wordless art in the future.
DeleteIn the future could you show us how you plan out your paintings? I think it'd be interesting to see how you sketch them out in advance
DeleteAnonymous: I didn't sketch this one out first, I just figured out a color palette and materials I liked and went from there... I sorta sketch on the painting as it progresses to see what looks right. But I'll try to include some sketches in the future.
DeleteMae, colors are stunning and quite soothing...Absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteRose, thank you so much!
Deletepretty! can't wait to see the rest! you'll have to tell us how your show goes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer! I definitely will, with photos :)

ReplyDeleteThanks Angie!!
DeleteGreat colors, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kiele :)
DeleteLove your art btw. I have a question on how you use your words do you paint them on or print them and photos what do you use to stick them on, are they mostly your own photos you have taken? Thank you
