par avion

Par Avion

One of my favorite things to do in South Boston is go to Castle Island, a beach and park down the street from our apartment. In the summer we get lobster rolls and drinks from Sullivan's and sit in the grass watching the sun set and the planes fly overhead and land across the harbor at Logan International. I found a vintage Soviet airmail envelope with a plane on it and made "Par Avion" just for fun. The four leaf clover was one I found the last time we visited the beach.

  1. This is beautiful and so uplifting somehow - I can almost smell the green grass and feel it tickling my bare toes. It evokes a lovely mood...as always, I enjoy your work!

  4. I love this ! When I lived in London (too many years ago!) my flatmate and I used to go to a quiet tucked-away park down the road from our apartment after work in the summer - we would buy kebabs and beers and lie in the grass watching the sun set ... your piece captures the same feeling I used to have back then - it's beautiful. x
