I drove back up on Thursday and stopped in at a thrift/antique shop somewhere near Manchester-by-the-Sea or maybe Beverly and scored a very weathered fish identification guide and a small pile of letters from the 1920s... the first one I pulled off the top was a 1929 pen pal letter from Bengal, India to Gloucester.
It made its way into three new paintings this weekend. You can kind of see it in "Dog Bar."
